WESTERN AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM —
PROJECT
294. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the Leader of the House representing the
Minister for Culture and the Arts:
I refer to the New Museum website,
which states —
The New Museum project
will provide better physical, sensory and intellectual access for all Western Australians
to explore past, present and future of this great State.
It is my understanding that
entrance fees will be $10 for a concession and $15 for fully waged entrants.
(1) What
modelling has been undertaken to demonstrate that low income families will be
able to access the Museum?
(2) Will there be any concessions
on entry prices for Indigenous Australians?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Research and
analysis has been undertaken to develop a range of estimates on the impact on
attendance based on assumptions and available data. This research represents an
estimate range. They are not fare costs and do not take into account specific
attributes such as socioeconomic and demographic data.
(2) There is no
plan to provide concessions specifically for Indigenous Australians.
Concessions will be based on age and socioeconomic factors in line with current
concession programs, not origin or ethnicity.
