representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to Karratha Health Campus.
(1) How many
doctors currently work at Karratha Health campus; and, of those, how many are —
(a) permanent;
(b) individuals
who have taken leave for the 2019–20 year to date; and
(c) currently
covering vacant roles?
(2) Have there
been any recent revisions in overall staffing levels; and, if yes, please
detail?
(3) Will the minister please table the number of
visitations to the emergency department over the past six months; and,
if not, why not?
(4) What plans are in place for regional hospitals
when staff are required to self-isolate if exposed to COVID-19?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
This question was lodged on
Tuesday, 10 March, so the information is current as of that date. I certainly
cannot guarantee that other things have not changed in that time, particularly
the guidelines.

WA Country Health Service is unable to provide a response within the requested
time frame and I request that the honourable member place the question on

(3) For the past
six months, from 1 September 2019 to 29 February 2020, there have been 11 623
presentations to the Karratha Health Campus emergency centre.
(4) Regional
hospitals are utilising the guidelines for self-isolation that have been
developed by the Department of Health. I table these guidelines, which are also
available at https://ww2.health.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/Coronavirus.
