MOBILE CONCRETING SOLUTIONS — ABORIGINAL HERITAGE SITE

1570. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the minister representing the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:

I refer to the investigation of Mobile Concreting Solutions by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage regarding the damage to a registered Aboriginal site.

(1) Can the minister confirm that the Department of Planning, Lands, and Heritage have been investigating Mobile Concreting Solutions since August 2019 for causing damage to a registered Aboriginal site?

(2) Can the minister confirm what action the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage has taken to hold Mobile Concreting Solutions to account for impacting a registered Aboriginal site?

(3) Can the minister confirm whether Mobile Concreting Solutions will be prosecuted for breaching section 17 of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972?

(4) Can the minister confirm when the complainant will be notified of the outcome of the investigation?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1)–(4) The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage has been investigating Mobile Concreting Solutions since August 2019 in relation to an alleged breach of section 17 of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972. As the investigation is ongoing, the department is unable to provide further information on the matter. The complainant will be notified of the outcome of the investigation once it is complete.
