LAKE MULLOCULLUP —
RECREATIONAL USE
1186. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to the decision of the City
of Albany council in October to gazette Lake Mullocullup near Albany for
recreational use.
(1) Given the
clearly demonstrated local intent, will the government support the proposed
gazettal of Lake Mullocullup for recreational use?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) Is the Department of Transport
proceeding with or processing the proposal?
(4) What investigations will the government undertake
as part of its response to the motion of the City of Albany?
(5) When can the City of Albany
expect a decision to be made in relation to its proposal?

some notice of the question. The following information has been provided to me
by the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(5) Discussions
are currently ongoing and no formal decision has yet been made. Formal
notification will be provided to the City of Albany once this is finalised.
