TAB —
PRIVATISATION — DEED OF AGENCY
79. Hon COLIN HOLT to the minister representing the
Minister for Racing and Gaming:
I refer to the deed of agency as
part of the sale of the WA TAB.
(1) When will the deed of agency be
finalised?
(2) Have all representative bodies and racing clubs
agreed to and signed off on the deed of agency; and, if not, which
bodies or clubs have not signed?
(3) Will
individual race clubs be permitted to negotiate individual sponsorship
agreements with the new operator of the WA TAB?
Hon
DARREN WEST replied:
I
thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. On behalf of the
Minister for Regional Development representing the Minister for Racing and
Gaming, I give the following answer.
The following information has been
provided to me by the Minister for Racing and Gaming.
(1) The deed of agency process was
finalised in February 2020.
(2) No. Perth
Racing and the Pinjarra Race Club did not sign the deed.
(3) The deed of
agency provides for Racing and Wagering Western Australia to negotiate
sponsorship and wagering services on behalf of clubs that have signed the deed.
Clubs that have not signed the deed would currently be responsible for their
own negotiations.
