Question Without Notice No. 385 asked in the Legislative Council on 16 August 2017 by Hon Peter Collier
Parliament: 40 Session: 1
PERTH CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL — LEAD CONTAMINATION
385. Hon PETER COLLIER to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the thermostatic mixing valves and assembly boxes at Perth Children's Hospital.
(1) Where are the TMVs and assembly boxes manufactured?
(2) Are the TMVs and assembly boxes found in any other hospitals, aged‑care facilities, nursing homes or any public buildings in Western Australia; and, if so, which facilities?
(3) If yes to (2), has testing for lead in these buildings begun to ensure Western Australians have not been exposed to any lead; and, if not, why not?
Hon ALANNA CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) I am informed that a question similar to this was asked today in the other place. I refer the member to the Legislative Assembly Hansard.
Point of Order
Hon DONNA FARAGHER: I think the minister in the other place needs to be reminded that this is the Legislative Council and referencing an answer given to the other place is not appropriate, so I ask, perhaps through a ruling, that that might be reflected back to the minister in the other place.
The PRESIDENT: Thank you, Hon Donna Faragher. I will come back to you with a ruling on that at a later stage of today's sitting.
