POINT-OF-CONSUMPTION WAGERING TAX

I refer to Treasury's
consultation on the implementation of a point-of-consumption wagering tax.
(1) Which other
state or territory government and principal racing authorities from other
states or territories have the Treasurer or Treasury consulted with? Please
list each and the dates of the meetings.
(2) Which
stakeholder groups in Western Australia have the Treasurer or Treasury
consulted with? Please list each and the dates of the meetings.
(3) Which
lobbyists have the Treasurer or Treasury met with? Please list each and the
date of meetings.

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) The
Department of Treasury has consulted with all state and territory Treasuries on
numerous occasions since 15 June 2016.
(2) Treasury
has consulted with the following stakeholders: Racing and Wagering Western Australia
on numerous occasions since 20 June 2017; the Western Australian Bookmakers
Association on 15 February 2018; the RWWA thoroughbred racing committee on 12 December
2017; the RWWA harness racing committee on 13 December 2017; the RWWA greyhound
racing committee on 14 December 2017; Responsible Wagering Australia, which
represents Bet365, CrownBet, Sportsbet, Betfair Exchange, Unibet and Ladbrokes,
on 13 February 2018; Tabcorp Ltd on 8 February 2018; and William Hill on 13 February
2018.
(3) Neither Treasury nor the Treasurer have met with any
lobbyists.
