(1) How many social workers service the Kimberley and Pilbara
regions?
(2) Where are these social workers located?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.

The Department of Communities does not formally classify any positions as ''social
workers''. A formal qualification in social work is a suitable
prerequisite for recruitment to Department of Communities' positions employed under specified callings, as
well as a qualification in psychology or other relevant human service
area.
If there was something in
particular that the honourable member was searching for, he can raise it with
me behind the Chair and I will see whether I can find something for him.
