Question Without Notice No. 228 asked in the Legislative Council on 17 March 2020 by Hon Tim Clifford

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

Answered on 17 March 2020

CORONAVIRUS — STIMULUS PACKAGE

228. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the minister representing the Treasurer:

Madam President, my question without notice —

Several members interjected.

The PRESIDENT: Order! Hon Tim Clifford has the call. It is a little bit hard to hear him at the moment.

Hon TIM CLIFFORD: I refer to the McGowan government's economic stimulus package in response to COVID-19. Will the state government extend the stimulus package to provide additional rental support to low-income earners?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the Treasurer.

As indicated by the Premier when announcing yesterday's $607 million stimulus package, COVID-19 is a constantly evolving situation and the McGowan government stands ready to respond in any way necessary. Further measures to support the state's economy are under consideration and will be rolled out as required.
