CLEVELAND–CLIFFS AND MINERAL RESOURCES — KOOLYANOBBING
      551. Hon PETER COLLIER to the Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I refer to the media announcement dated Tuesday, 17 July 2018, regarding Mineral Resources' acquisition of the Koolyanobbing iron ore mine.
      (1) Has the government provided royalty relief to Cleveland–Cliffs; and, if so, what is the value of the relief, and what are the terms and conditions of that royalty relief?
      (2) Has the government provided port fee relief to Cleveland–Cliffs; and, if so, what is the value of the relief, and what are the terms and conditions of that port fee relief?
      (3) Has the government provided royalty relief to Mineral Resources; and, if so, what is the value of the relief, and what are the terms and conditions of that royalty relief?
      (4) Has the government provided port fee relief to Mineral Resources; and, if so, what is the value of the relief, and what are the terms and conditions of that fee relief?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(4) The Western Australian government has committed to providing time-limited royalty rebates and reduced port charges to support Mineral Resources' acquisition of Cleveland–Cliffs' iron ore operations in the Koolyanobbing area. The contractual and other arrangements are currently being finalised. No financial assistance or relief has been provided to any party to date. It is intended to provide further information after the arrangements are finalised and are in place.
