Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 770 asked in the Legislative Council on 31 August 2022 by Hon James Hayward

Parliament: 41 Session: 1

TURKEY POINT BRIDGE — BUNBURY

770. Hon JAMES HAYWARD to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Ports:

I refer to the announced construction of a bridge to Turkey Point in Bunbury.

(1) When will construction commence on this $15 million project?

(2) Are there any plans to develop or activate the Turkey Point reserve beyond the gravel car park that currently exists?

(3) Is the Turkey Point bridge still a priority for the McGowan government, considering current labour shortages and construction material constraints?

(4) Is the proposed Turkey Point bridge part of a master plan for the future development and expansion of the Bunbury port; and, if not, why not?

Hon SUE ELLERY replied:

(1) Geotechnical works are expected to commence in October.

(2) The member is asked to clarify which gravel area he is referring to.

(3)–(4) Yes.
