CORONAVIRUS — TESTING — REGIONAL
AREAS
258. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the minister's
answers to Legislative Assembly questions without notice 164 and 173 regarding
regional COVID-19 clinics.
(1) Please detail
what will be the trigger points for regional COVID-19 clinics to be activated
beyond Bunbury and which points are of greater priority.
(2) Please detail
which regional clinics will be rolled out within the next six months and the
estimated date they will commence operation.
(3) What
infrastructure and staffing requirements do regional health facilities need in
order for a clinic to be activated?
(4) What
government funding and resourcing is being made available to the WA Country
Health Service for the rollout of regional COVID clinics?
Hon ALANNA
CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Current and
forecast clinical demand, population size and demographics would be trigger
points that would be considered for regional COVID-19 clinics to be activated.
(2) Planning is being undertaken to
consider potential future sites across country Western Australia.
(3) For a clinic
to be activated, a suitable location must be identified and the number of
clinical and support staff would be dependent on activity levels.
(4) Costs
associated with COVID-19 will be shared through the national partnership
agreement between the commonwealth and the states.
