Question On Notice No. 2195 asked in the Legislative Council on 6 June 2019 by Hon Martin Aldridge

Question Directed to the: Minister for Environment representing the Minister for Police; Road Safety
Parliament: 40 Session: 1

Question

I refer to Legislative Council question without notice 566 answered on 5 June 2019, and in particular the Minister's non-answer to parts one and four of the question, and I ask again:
(a) what laws, regulations or policies, if any, are in place to prevent the adverse politicisation of the Western Australia Police Force as occured with respect to the election signage of the Labor Candidate for Pearce;
(b) is the Minister or Commissioner of Police considering further measures to ensure this type of conflict does not arise in future election campaigns; and
(c) if yes to (b), will the Minister please detail the measures being considered by Government for the Western Australia Police Force?

Answered on 6 August 2019

(a)– (c) The premise of the Member’s question is rejected; further measures are not being considered.
