1214. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Local Government:
I refer to the Local Government (Administration) Regulations
1996 and the Local Government (Elections) Regulations 1997.
(1) How many
candidates have successfully nominated for election to local government without
satisfying regulation 22B of the Local Government (Elections) Regulations 1997
relating to online inductions?
(2) How many council members are now in breach of
regulation 35 of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996
relating to training?
(3) How many
local governments have not adopted a policy for continuing professional
development of council members?
(4) How many
local governments have not published an annual report on training by council
members for 2019–20?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) The
information in relation to candidate withdrawal is held outside the Department
of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
(2) The
information is held outside the Department of Local Government, Sport and
Cultural Industries and will be reported early next year.

This information is held with individual local governments. The requirement is
that local governments publish and make public this information when it becomes
available.
