Parliament: 40 Session: 1
Question
I refer to briefing notes and speaking points prepared, or approved, by your office and distributed to Members of Parliament, and I ask:
(a) for the last 12 months, please provide a copy of all documents as detailed above;
(b) please advise who was the recipient of each document; and
(c) please advise who authored and approved each document?
Answered on 10 April 2018
(a-c) Briefing notes and speaking points are prepared for members of parliament are prepared on a regular and often ad hoc basis, on top of briefings for members of all parties which may include the preparation and distribution of written notes. It is not considered a productive use of limited government resources to attempt to total these together, let alone the highly likely possibility that some would be missed, leading to an incomplete answer.
