Parliament: 40 Session: 1
CITY BEACH SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL SITE
500. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to the article in the Cambridge Post titled ''Homes to Take Over Classes'', which states —
Last month, mayor Keri Shannon and senior council staff met staffers from the offices of Education Minister Sue Ellery and Planning Minister Rita Saffioti.
(1) On what date or dates has the minister and/or her staff met with the Town of Cambridge to discuss the former City Beach High School site?
(2) Who attended the meetings?
(3) Who advised the town's representatives that ''the former City Beach high school site is not being considered for education purposes but is more likely to be developed for residential purposes'', as stated in the article?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) On 19 July 2017.
(2) Policy advisers from the offices of the Minister for Planning and the Minister for Education.
(3) I have been informed that such comments were not made. The future of this site has not yet been determined, and nothing has been ruled in or out.
