DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY INDUSTRIES AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT — REDUNDANCIES

1254. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Minister for Regional Development:

I refer to the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development annual report and the reduction of 131 staff from the agency.

(1) How many redundancies were offered to staff?

(2) How many applications were received for those redundancies?

(3) What criteria were used to select the successful applicants for redundancy?

(4) Can the minister please provide a list of the position titles and geographic locations of those 131 staff?

Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN replied:

I thank the member for the question.

(1) There were 152 redundancies offered.

(2) There were 226 applications received.

(3) All applications were reviewed by the relevant executive leaders against a number of factors that included government priorities, strategic direction, regional and service delivery impacts, opportunities for reform and renewal, workload management and retention of key knowledge and capabilities.
