HEALTH — WORKFORCE RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN
566. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
I
refer to the $2 million advertising campaign that began on 22 October last year
to recruit more health professionals to the WA Health system to support
a workforce recruitment campaign.
(1) What incentives are currently
offered as part of this program for —
(a) nurses; and
(b) midwives?
(2) Can the
minister provide a breakdown of how many new full-time equivalent recruits have
stemmed from this program since October from the following categories —
(a) local;
(b) interstate;
and
(c) overseas?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The answer is: an answer will be provided on the
next sitting day. As Leader of the House, I make the point again that the
member is asking for a breakdown of new FTEs across local, interstate and
overseas—three categories—since October. That is a lot of
information to collate in four hours.
The
PRESIDENT: I will follow that by reminding members that the
standing orders require questions to be concise, which can also be
interpreted as concise in terms of the type of information sought, in order to
be able to fit within the expectations of time turnaround.
I give the call to Hon Neil Thomson
again. I am aware that he is about to ask a question on behalf of a colleague.
