381. Hon MICHAEL MISCHIN to the Leader of the House representing the Attorney General:
I refer to the Attorney General's announcement of 26 April 2017 of additional funding for Community Legal Centres.
(1) How much extra funding has the state government provided and for what period?
(2) What was the source of that funding?
(3) Did any of that funding come from the legal contribution trust fund?
(4) If so, how much funding was drawn from the trust and by what mechanism was that increased funding from the trust achieved; what is the current balance of funds available in the fund to cover potential claims against it; what is the current and anticipated exposure of the fund to claims within the 2017–18, 2018–19 and the 2019–20 financial years; what advice and recommendations did he receive from the trust regarding increasing any contribution to Community Legal Centres drawing on the fund; was his decision consistent with or contrary to the advice from the trust; and, will he table that advice and recommendations; and, if not, why not?
