Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 950 asked in the Legislative Council on 4 September 2019 by Hon Donna Faragher

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

CAMP SCHOOLS AND LANDSDALE FARM SCHOOL — FAIRBRIDGE WA

950. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and Training:

I refer to Landsdale Farm and the camp schools now managed by Fairbridge WA. Will the minister table the final lease agreements between —

(a) the Department of Education and Family Support WA to manage and operate Landsdale Farm; and

(b) the Department of Education and Fairbridge WA to manage and operate the six camp schools?

Hon SUE ELLERY replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(a) Yes. I table a copy of the lease agreement. In addition, Family Support WA agreed to honour the current terms of the ''Community Use Of school Facilities and Resources'' licence agreements of existing tenants.

(b) Yes. I table a copy of the lease agreement for the camp sites at Bridgetown, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie in the goldfields, and Pemberton. The lease documents relating to the Dampier and Point Peron sites have yet to be finalised. Point Peron is managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, and Dampier is managed by Rio Tinto's Hamersley Iron.
