Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 3 asked in the Legislative Council on 13 March 2018 by Hon Michael Mischin

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

ARTHUR BOYCOTT GREER — PAROLE
      3. Hon MICHAEL MISCHIN to the Leader of the House representing the Attorney General:
I refer to the prisoner Arthur Boycott Greer, the murderer of Sharon Mason, who has never cooperated with the police regarding his crime, and reports of his having had his consideration for parole advanced from 2019.
(1) When in the ordinary course of events was his case next due for consideration?
(2) Why and on whose instructions, direction or request was the review brought forward?
      (3) What has the Prisoners Review Board recommended and what are the reasons for that recommendation?
      (4) Has the Attorney General made a decision on whether he will accept the recommendation; and, if not, why not and when will he do so?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
Given the detail of the question and the answers required, the Attorney General requests that this question be placed on notice. If it is of some assistance to the member, the other question on this matter has the same answer.
