(1) Will the
minister please provide an explanation why he considered the implementations
relating to the Koolyanobbing Range F deposit should be changed?
(2) Did the
minister receive any advice, either informal or formal, prior to referring the
matter to the Environmental Protection Authority?
(3) If yes to (2), who provided the
advice and on what dates?
(4) Will the minister table any
written advice he received; and, if not, why not?

I thank the Leader of the
Opposition for some notice of the question.
(1) The proponent
wrote to me requesting that I initiate a section 46 review to consider amending
condition 8, stage 1 offsets; condition 9, access to stage 2 mining area; and
condition 10, stage 2 offsets. On this basis, I requested that the
Environmental Protection Authority inquire into and report on this matter under
section 46 of the Environmental Protection Act 1986.
(2)–(4) Given
the amount of information required and the time permitted, I ask that the
honourable member put these parts of the question on notice.
