I refer to the answer to question
without notice 12, asked by me in the Legislative Council on 11 February 2020.
(1) Was the
minister aware that Michael Hollett, the former chairperson of the Water
Corporation was the director of the Kimberley Marine Support Base Pty Ltd, the
proponents behind the Broome $110 million floating wharf?
(2) If no to (1),
why not?
(3) What
negotiations occurred between either Michael Hollett, representatives of the
Kimberley Marine Support Base Pty Ltd and the minister or the department prior
to the minister's press release of Friday, 20 September 2019?

I
thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. On behalf of the
Minister for Regional Development, I give the following answer.
(1) Yes.
(2) Not
applicable.
(3) Representatives
of Kimberley Marine Support Base Pty Ltd, the Kimberley Ports Authority and the
Department of Transport held meetings as
necessary throughout 2018 and 2019 to negotiate and finalise the
long-term commercial lease for the facility. The minister had a meeting with
Kimberley Marine Support Base Pty Ltd on 27 September 2018.
