DEPARTMENT FOR CHILD PROTECTION AND FAMILY SUPPORT — CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
877.
Hon NICK GOIRAN
to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Child Protection:
I refer to the statement of conflict of interests at page 61 of the 2016–2017 final report for the Department for Child Protection and Family Support.
(1) Have any interests been declared since the date of reporting?
(2) What mechanism was available for any declaration of interests to be made after the date of reporting in light of the department's cessation from 1 July 2017?
(3) What was the date of reporting?
Hon SUE ELLERY
replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) No.
(2) The former Department for Child Protection and Family Support complied with Australian Accounting Standard AASB 124 Related Party Disclosures and obtained declarations from key management personnel about related parties and conflicts of interest at the reporting date, 30 June 2017, and upon cessation of their employment in the department. Any declarations of interest made after 30 June 2017 will be reported in the Department of Communities' annual report. The department's conflict of interest policy defines the departmental procedure to identify and declare conflicts of interests via a departmental declaration of a conflict of interest form and to its director/executive director or the director general at any point in time.
(3) The date of reporting was 30 June 2017.
