Parliament: 40 Session: 1

SOUTH WEST POLICE DISTRICT

1149. Hon COLIN HOLT to the minister representing the Minister for Police:

(1) What is the current actual strength of the south west police district?

(2) What is the authorised strength of the south west police district?

(3) What will be the authorised strength of the south west police district once the Capel police station is commissioned?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for Police.

(1)–(3) The Western Australia Police Force advises that for the month of September 2018, the average actual strength for south west district was 255 police officers and 2.7 police auxiliary officers. At 30 September 2018, the authorised strength for the south west district was 269 police officers and three police auxiliary officers. Future staffing decisions will be determined by the Commissioner of Police.
