Question
I refer to the electricity mix delivered by Synergy to Western Australian customers, and I ask:
(a) what percentage of Synergy’s energy mix comes from renewable energy sources and will the Minister please table the percentage of each source; and
(b) does Synergy have a renewable energy target and will the Minister please table it?
Answered on 21 November 2019
(a) For financial year 2019 14.3 per cent of the electricity mix delivered by Synergy to customers came from renewable energy sources.
Seven per cent was sourced from a mix of wind and solar (Synergy owned and through power purchase agreements) and 7.3 per cent was sourced from roof top solar.
(b) Synergy must comply with the Commonwealth Government’s Renewable Energy Target.
