STATE PLANNING POLICY — MURDOCH DRIVE CONNECTION
871. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Will the minister please clarify whether a noise mitigation plan has been delivered, as required by state planning policy 5.4, for the Murdoch Drive connection?
(2) If no to (1), when is one expected?
(3) Can the minister confirm whether the recommendations in section 5.5 of state planning policy 5.4, which refer to new noise-sensitive developments, have been followed with respect to works for the Murdoch Drive connection?
(4) If no to (3), why not?
(5) Will the minister please clarify whether ministerial statement 1008 is being relied upon for the initiation of works on the Murdoch Drive connection?
(6) If no to (5), can the minister please explain what planning and environmental approval process is being relied upon to sanction works?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) State planning policy 5.4 does not require a noise mitigation plan. However, a noise management plan, in accordance with section 5.5 of state planning policy 5.4, has been approved by the Environmental Protection Authority and is being implemented.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) Murdoch Drive connection is not a new noise-sensitive development, but the recommendations of section 5.5 are being adhered to.
(4) Not applicable.
(5) Yes.
(6) Not applicable.
