PROJECT
APPROVALS — FRONTLINE OFFICERS
56. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the minister representing the
Treasurer:
I refer to the 2021–22
state budget allocation of a $120 million package confirming an earlier
announcement made on 21 July to recruit ''150 frontline officers to
speed up project approvals'' across five agencies.
(1) How many of these 150 officers have been recruited
to date and into which agencies have they been recruited?
(2) How much of
the $120 million has been spent on the recruitment of those officers?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. On behalf of the minister representing the
Treasurer, I provide the following response.
The Department of Treasury advises
that questions should be placed on notice with each of the relevant agencies:
the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety; the Department of
Planning, Lands and Heritage; the Department
of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions; the Department of Jobs, Tourism,
Science and Innovation; and the Department of Water and Environmental
Regulation.
