HOSPITALS — SEVERITY ASSESSMENT CODE 1 EVENTS
774. Hon STEVE MARTIN to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to recent media coverage of
severity assessment code 1 clinical incidents in Western Australian hospitals.
(1) For each
hospital in both metropolitan and country areas, will the minister please list
how many SAC 1 incidents were recorded in —
(a) July 2022 to date; and
(b) 2021–22?
(2) For each of
those periods, how many of the incidents resulted in death, according to each
hospital in both metropolitan and country health areas?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the member for some notice
of the question, but as Leader of the House, I make the point that when members
want that level of data, they will not be able to get it in a four-hour
turnaround.
The answer from the minister is that
an answer will be provided on 15 September 2022.
The PRESIDENT: The Leader of the
House.
Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS: Again!
There is a trend here, President.
The PRESIDENT: No. My head is
going to the clock rather than who is standing!
Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS: I like the
encouragement, thank you, President!
The
PRESIDENT: Okay; that is a free
kick. Just in case there is any doubt, the Leader of the Opposition has the
call.
