CORONAVIRUS — BUSINESS SUPPORT
135. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the Leader of the House representing
the Premier:
I
refer to the Premier's media statement of 2 March 2022 entitled ''Level
2 COVID-19 Business Assistance Package'', referencing a purported
$1.7 billion COVID business support commitment by the McGowan government.
(1) What is the fiscal breakdown of each and all
COVID-19 support packages for Western Australian businesses committed to
by the McGowan government included in the $1.7 billion, including for each
package —
(a) the total budgeted funds;
(b) the total of funds delivered to
WA businesses; and
(c) the number of businesses that
have received funding from the packages?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I am going to ask for some leniency
today. I do not know why, but I have a whole pile of questions that have not
been put in my file, so I will have to try to wade my way through them. Bear
with me, folks.
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) (a)–(b)
The answer is in tabular form. The table
includes initiatives that were only recently introduced or where funds
have been disbursed at the conclusion of the program; for example, building
bonus grants. As a result, funds will continue to increase as packages or
programs progress.
I seek leave to have this
information incorporated into Hansard.
