VOLUNTEER FUEL CARD — ELIGIBILITY
580. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Minister for Regional Development:
I refer to the volunteer fuel card funded by royalties for regions.
(1) Will eligible volunteer emergency service brigades, groups and units continue to receive a fuel card to the value of $2 000?
(2) Is the budget reduction from $1.8 million to $1 million a result of activity on the cards not fully utilising the $2 000 available, or is it related to a change in eligibility or value of the card provided?

I thank the member for the question.
(1)–(2) There is no change to the eligibility for the volunteer fuel card. The budget reduction reflects that in previous years, there has been an underspend primarily due to a lower than anticipated uptake rate by volunteer units. The funding will continue in line with expenditure.
