COMMUNITY DENTAL HEALTH
VAN
966. Hon JIM CHOWN to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to yesterday's
revelation in answer to question without notice 946 that the minister had not
been informed about changes to the community dental van's schedule in
regional Western Australia.
(1) Will the minister reinstate this essential primary
health service to the Kalannie community and surrounding areas,
especially when the change will mean that students will be required to travel
for up to two hours to Dalwallinu, during school hours, to attend the
alternative location? I note that students are likely to attend on more than
one occasion for a follow-up treatment.
(2) If no to (1),
why not?
(3) What other
isolated communities and schools in the Agricultural Region will no longer be
serviced locally by the community dental van?
Hon ALANNA
CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
I have been advised by the North
Metropolitan Health Service that further time is required to answer this
question. The information will be provided to the honourable member as soon as
it is available.
