TRANSPERTH — RAILCARS
      366. Hon SIMON O'BRIEN to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) What is the total amount the government proposes to spend on the purchase of passenger railcars?
      (2) What is the amount proposed to be spent over each of the financial years from 2018–19 until the final year of commitments entered into or proposed to be entered into?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
      (1)–(2) A total of $1.6 billion has been allocated over the period 2017–18 to 2027–28 to procure new Transperth railcars, with $29.5 million to be expended in 2018–19.
