METROPOLITAN REGION SCHEME AMENDMENT 1280/41 — POINT PERON
      718. Hon AARON STONEHOUSE to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I note metropolitan region scheme amendment 1280/41 regarding land at Point Peron before the Western Australian Planning Commission.
      (1) How many public submissions were made to the WAPC in relation to the proposed MRS amendment?
(2) How many of these public submissions opposed the proposed MRS amendment?
      (3) On what date did the WAPC hearings committee provide its report and recommendation about the proposed MRS amendment to the full committee of the WAPC?
      (4) Has the WAPC provided its report and recommendations in relation to the proposed MRS amendment to the minister, and —
      (a) if so, when; and
      (b) if not, when does the minister anticipate the WAPC will do so?
(5) Will the minister table or provide me with —
      (a) the abovementioned report and recommendations of the WAPC hearings committee; and
(b) the abovementioned report and recommendations of the WAPC to the minister?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
      (1) There were 496.
      (2) There were 430.
      (3) The Hearings Committee finalised its report to the Western Australian Planning Commission on 22 November 2016.
      (4) The WAPC's ''Report on submissions'' was provided to the Minister for Planning on 10 October 2017.
          (5) (a) The WAPC's ''Report on submissions'' remains confidential as the amendment is under consideration by the minister.
          (b) In accordance with standard practice, whilst under consideration by the minister, the Hearings Committee's report to the WAPC is not released.
