Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 676 asked in the Legislative Council on 11 October 2017 by Hon Colin De Grussa

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

VOLUNTEER FUEL CARD — 2017–18 STATE BUDGET
      676. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Minister for Regional Development:
I refer to the minister's answer to question without notice 580 asked by me on 12 September in which she states that eligibility for and value of the volunteer emergency services fuel card will not change. I further refer to the answer provided by the Treasurer yesterday to question without notice 658, which stated the value of the card is under review.
      (1) Was the minister correct in saying that the value of the volunteer fuel card will not change; or is the Treasurer correct in saying that the value is under review?
      (2) Has the government's position changed since I asked this question in September?
Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN replied:
(1)–(2) This is a question without notice, so I am sorry; I did not grasp all the detail and the dates on which the member claimed he asked a question. My understanding is that the question is regarding the volunteer fuel card for regional areas going into the future.
Hon Colin de Grussa: The volunteer emergency services fuel card.
Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN: Yes. An answer was recently provided by the Minister for Environment representing the Treasurer. It outlined that it is currently under review and we are hoping to have it resolved within the near future.
