Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 505 asked in the Legislative Council on 5 September 2017 by Hon Aaron Stonehouse

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

KWINANA OUTER HARBOUR
      505. Hon AARON STONEHOUSE to the Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I note and welcome the Premier's public commitment to the Kwinana outer harbour throughout the recent election campaign, and his deputy's reference to it as a ''no‑brainer''. I further note reports in last week's The West Australian detailing a state conference motion by the so‑called progressive Labor faction aimed at sinking the plan. Will the government clarify its position on this vital piece of infrastructure at the heart of my electorate, and confirm that it has not been cast adrift by its friends in the Maritime Union?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
That is an excellent question, and this is an even more excellent answer!
Although I appreciate the member's maritime metaphors, the government is absolutely committed to the outer harbour project.
