WESTERN AUSTRALIAN CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION —
REFORM
398. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and
Training:
I refer to the minister's
press release titled ''Schooling reforms to give every student an
opportunity for a better future'', dated 2 May 2019, and specifically
the reference that the School Curriculum and Standards Authority was asked by
the minister to consult with school leaders, training providers, industry,
parents and students.
(1) What was the form of
consultation undertaken by SCSA?
(2) Will the minister list each of
the stakeholders who were consulted?
(3) On what date or dates was each
stakeholder referred to in (2) consulted?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The plan to
propose changes to the Western Australian Certificate of Education, including
stakeholder consultation, was announced in my media statement on 22 October
2018. The School Curriculum and Standards Authority conducted face-to-face or
telephone consultation with stakeholders.
(2)–(3) As
the information is provided in tabular form, I seek leave to have the following
information incorporated into Hansard. I also offered a briefing on the
changes to the honourable member; however, my office has not yet received a response.
Hon Donna Faragher: I had
informed my office to say yes to that, and that might not have been passed on
to you, minister, but thank you for the invitation.
Hon SUE ELLERY: Okay.
Leave granted.
