I refer to the advertisement that appeared in The West Australian on 29 January 2019, under your authority in relation to Class ‘A’ Reserve 20253, and I ask:
(a) what was the cost of the advertisement
;
(b) was the advertisement placed in any other publication;
(c) if yes to (b), please identify the publication and the relevant cost;
(d) please table a map or survey identifying Reserve 20253;
(e) given the advertisement is seeking public comment within 30 days of advertisement, why does the advertisement not better identify the reserve as pertaining to the Abrolhos Islands; and
(f) was consideration given to advertising in local publications within the Mid West region?
Answered on 19 March 2019
(a) $1016.87 including GST.
(b) No.
(c) Not applicable.
(d) [See tabled paper no.] The tabled paper identifies the proposed amendments to Reserve 20253.
(e) Class A Reserve 20253 does not include all of the Houtman Abrolhos Islands.
(f) The statutory requirement, under the Land Administration Act 1997, is to advertise a major amendment to a Class A Reserve in a newspaper circulating throughout the State.
