EMERGENCY SERVICE VOLUNTEER ORGANISATIONS 130. Hon COLIN DE GRUSSA to the minister representing the Minister for Emergency Services:
Under the previous government, emergency service volunteer organisations were provided with an emergency service volunteer fuel card of up to $2 000 a year.
(1) Will this important resource for our volunteer emergency service organisations continue under the current government?
(2) If no to (1), what will this government do to ensure our state's volunteer organisations do not suffer additional financial imposts in maintaining the important services they provide?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for Emergency Services.
(1) Yes, the program is continuing. However, all royalties for regions funding is currently under review for the upcoming budget.
(2) Not applicable.
