WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK APPLICATIONS — NEGATIVE NOTICES
      99. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Child Protection:
I refer to negative notices issued on applications for a working with children card check.
(1) What internal review options are available to an applicant?
(2) What external review options are available to an applicant?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
I refer to negative notices issued on applications for a working with children card check. This is the right question, is it not?
Hon Nick Goiran: Yes.
Hon SUE ELLERY: I was slightly distracted. I ask—okay, let us start again.
The PRESIDENT: Do you want to take a moment?
Hon SUE ELLERY: Yes, thanks.
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
      (1) There is no internal review option available to the applicant; however, prior to an adverse decision—a negative notice—being made, an applicant is provided the opportunity to make a submission before the outcome of the application is determined.
(2) It is the State Administrative Tribunal.
