NORTH WEST WATER POLICE UNIT — CLOSURE
155. Hon KEN BASTON to the minister representing the Minister for Police:
I refer to the statement made by the WA Police Force Commissioner of Police regarding the announced closure of the north west water police unit in March 2018.
(1) On what date was the minister advised the Commissioner of Police was considering retiring Delphinus?
(2) On what date was the minister advised of the final decision to retire Delphinus?
(3) Could the minister please explain the changes that have occurred in the ''current security environment'' that led to this decision?
(4) Was the local government in this area consulted or informed about this decision prior to it being announced?
(5) If yes to (4), when did these discussions occur?
(6) If no to (4), why not?
