PALLIATIVE CARE —
REGIONAL SERVICES
605. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I
refer to the minister's media statements of 9 May 2019 and 10 October
2019, in which he announced two packages to increase palliative care
funding.
(1) Has a model of care been established for each
region; and, if yes, what is the model that is or will be deployed?
(2) How much of the combined package
will be allocated to regional palliative care?
(3) Of that identified
in (2), would the minister please provide a breakdown of the additional funding
for 2019–20 and across the forward estimates?
(4) How many
additional staff, by FTE, have been employed in each region to date using the
minister's 10 October 2019 statement as the benchmark for ''current
FTE''?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I note that this question was lodged and an answer
prepared on Tuesday, 19 May 2020, so the answer is correct as at that date.
(1) No.
(2) The amount is $39.7 million.
(3) I have a table outlining the package by year and
