Answered on

NORTH STONEVILLE DEVELOPMENT

1355. Hon CHARLES SMITH to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:

I refer to the 2009 local subdivision and infrastructure plan 265 to support rezoning and guide subdivision and development at North Stoneville, now known as structure plan 34, and endorsed by the Western Australian Planning Commission in 1999.

(1) Did the report consider the risk to contamination of local waterways, run-off into neighbouring dams and potential breach or seepage into subterranean aquifers?

(2) Will the minister now please table the report?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) Local subdivision and infrastructure plan 265 was approved by the Shire of Mundaring in 1998. In 1999, the Western Australian Planning Commission noted this plan as the basis for initiation of an amendment to the metropolitan region scheme to support future urban development. The LSIP included a number of technical appendices that considered wastewater management matters having regard to best practice at the time.

(2) The LSIP is not a WAPC or Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage document. This is a document that was prepared by the Shire of Mundaring.
