NURSING POSTS
39. Hon ROBIN SCOTT to the minister representing the
Minister for Health:
My question is to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Health. I refer to comments made at a recent
meeting of local governments in the Murchison region of Western Australia that
poor facilities and lack of adequate staff at regional nursing posts remains a problem,
as it has been for many years.
(1) Does the
state government have any plans to increase the funding made available to the
nursing posts?
(2) Does the
state government have any plans to increase staffing levels at the posts,
including the prescribing of minimum staffing levels?
The PRESIDENT: Before I give
the call to the Minister for Mental Health, member, I might just advise you
that if you choose to ask further questions of the Minister for Health, it is
currently a minister representing the Minister for Health rather than a parliamentary
secretary. There has been a little change in the last couple of weeks.
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
I am very sorry, honourable member.
It has been two days in a row and the member's question is not in my
folder. It has been received, so I will get it and answer it before the end of
question time.
