Question

For each department and agency within the Minister's portfolio, could the Minister please provide information for the financial year 2019-2020, concerning the use of purchasing cards (including debit and credit cards) including:
(a) how many cards were issued to staff;
(b) what expenditure and transaction limits applied to the use of those cards;
(c) the total dollar value of transactions made via those cards;
(d) the total number of transactions made via those cards; and
(e) a breakdown of the categories of goods and services purchased via those cards?

Aqwest

 

(a) There were six (6) cards active during the 2019-2020 financial year, however two (2) were also cancelled during the same financial year.

(b) All cards have a $15k monthly limit. Four (4) cards have a transaction limit of $5k and two (2) cards have a transaction limit of $2k.

(c) The total dollar value of transactions was $81 677.65 including GST.

(d) The total number of transactions was 244.

Water Corporation

 

(a) Water Corporation had 806 active cards during the 2019-2020 financial year, however 77 of those cards were cancelled during the same financial year.

(b) Limits on Water Corporation purchasing cards vary according to role and may be between $200 and $10 000 per transaction with monthly card spends limited to between $500 and

$30 000.
