Question On Notice No. 2387 asked in the Legislative Council on 15 August 2019 by Hon Michael Mischin
Question Directed to the: Minister for Disability Services
Parliament: 40 Session: 1
Question
I refer to the Bennett Brook Disability Justice Centre and the Government's injunction restraining media organisations from publishing information concerning it, and ask:
(a) did the Minister or his office brief any other Minister or their office regarding the injunction or that incident; and
(b) if yes to (a), who was briefed, by whom and on what date?
Answered on 17 September 2019
(a) – (b) There were no formal briefings by myself or my office to any other Ministerial Office in relation to the injunction on media organisations.
The Attorney General’s office was alerted to the injunctions by the office of the State Solicitor. My office alerted the Premier’s office to the injunction on media organisations on 3 August 2019, the day it was issued.
