BURRUP PENINSULA — ROCK ACIDITY
1545. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the Minister for Environment:
I refer to question without notice
1266 asked on 29 October 2019 and the answer to (3) about the site known as the
big goanna petroglyph on Murujuga.
(1) Has the minister investigated
what has caused the change in pH at that site?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to (1), what were the
findings of that investigation?
(4) If yes to (1), who was
responsible for the dramatic change in pH of the test site?
(5) Will any action be taken against
the perpetrator?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(5) I
have requested the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation to
investigate this matter. This investigation is ongoing and I expect to have the
report in due course. I commit to tabling this report once it has been
finalised.
