456. Hon AARON STONEHOUSE to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
(1) How many private hospitals are currently licensed in this state?
(2) How many of those licensed private hospitals are licensed to accommodate —
(a) fewer than 25 patients;
(b) between 25 and 100 patients;
(c) between 101 and 200 patients; and
(d) in excess of 201 patients?
Hon ALANNA CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. I am advised by the Department of Health as follows.
(1) There are 22 licensed private hospitals in Western Australia.
(2) Of those licensed private hospitals —
(a) three are licensed to accommodate fewer than 25 patients;
(b) nine are licensed to accommodate between 25 and 100 patients;
(c) two are licensed to accommodate between 101 and 200 patients; and
(d) eight are licensed to accommodate in excess of 201 patients.
