BUILDING BONUS GRANTS
739. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the minister representing the Minister for Finance:
My question without notice is asked
on behalf of Hon Dr Steve Thomas who is on urgent parliamentary business.
I refer to the government's
$20 000 building bonus grants.
(1) Can a corporate entity or other
legal entity apply for the building bonus grants?
(2) Can one owner of multiple lots
apply for a grant for each lot?
(3) If yes to
(1), what is the maximum number of grants available to one person or legal entity
who applies for grants for each of their multiple blocks?
(4) Can a property
developer or commercial builder who owns multiple lots of land access a separate
grant for each block they own if they commit to build a house on it?
(5) If yes to (4), what conditions
apply to the grant?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank Hon Dr Steve Thomas for some
notice of the question. The following answer is provided on behalf of the
Minister for Finance.
(1)–(2) Yes.
(3) There is no maximum.
(4) Yes.
(5) Only one grant
is payable per home construction. If the developer or builder intends to sell
the homes off the plan during construction, the buyer is eligible to apply for
the grant once they are the registered owner of the land. Further details about
the eligibility criteria for the grant are available on wa.gov.au.
