CORRECTIVE SERVICES — PRISON STAFF ASSAULTS
      32. Hon CHARLES SMITH to the minister representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to a recent media article on WAtoday entitled '''Brutal assaults': Spate of inmate attacks on WA prison staff''. Can the minister advise the house —
      (a) how many WA prison staff have been assaulted and submitted incident reports in the last 12 months;
(b) how many of those assaults have been prosecuted; and
(c) how many of those prosecutions have concluded in a criminal conviction?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. I am advised by the Department of Justice as follows.
(a) The answer is in tabular form and I seek leave to have it incorporated into Hansard.
